China supports constructive proposals put forward by Turkmenistan in the interests of peace and sustainable development. This was stated by Chinese President Xi Jinping at a meeting with Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, TDH news agency reports.
“The Chinese side supports constructive proposals put forward by Turkmenistan in the interests of peace and sustainable development in the regional and global dimensions,” the Chinese leader noted. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the second Central Asia-China summit.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov informed his interlocutor about Turkmenistan's initiative to form a Global Security Strategy under the auspices of the UN. According to the Turkmen side, the document should emphasize the role of developing countries in the modern world order, the use of preventive diplomacy and the principles of neutrality in peacekeeping activities.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that a substantive discussion of this topic will take place at the International Forum in Ashgabat in December 2025. The event will be dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality.
