The Ahal Velayat of Turkmenistan and the Chinese province of Shaanxi have established sister city relations, TDH reports.
The corresponding agreement between the hakimlik of the Ahal Velayat of Turkmenistan and the People's Government of the Shaanxi Province of China was signed during the working visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Kazakhstan. The head of state took part in the second summit "Central Asia - China", which was held in the capital of the republic.
The Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan also attended the event.
Following the summit, the participants signed the Treaty on Eternal Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between the six states, the Astana Declaration of the Second Summit "Central Asia - China".
In addition, an initiative was adopted to create favorable conditions for mutual trips of citizens within the framework of this format.
Following the signing ceremony, the opening of the Cooperation Center in the “Central Asia – China” format was announced.
