Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Rovshen Nepesov won the Grand Prix of the Turkic World Composers Competition "Mangystau Maqamdary", which took place in Aktau, Kazakhstan.
The competition was held as part of the project "Aktau - the cultural capital of the Turkic world" and was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the People's Artist of the USSR, People's Hero of Kazakhstan Nurgisa Tlendiev.
The competition of the best representatives of musical art was aimed at glorifying the spiritual heritage of the Turkic peoples, supporting young performers and popularizing the work of folk composers, according to the website www.gov.kz.
Aitkali Zhaiymov from Astana shared the Grand Prix with the Turkmen composer. Sanzhar Baiterekov and Ermurat Usenov (Almaty), the second place by Arman Zhaiym (Astana) and Bauyrzhan Kobengaliev (Mangistau region), took the first place. The third place was awarded to Aigerim Aulbek (Astana) and Aidarbek Onaibayev (Mangistau region).
Conductor, composer and musician Rovshen Nepesov is well known not only in his homeland, but also outside Turkmenistan. He actively participates in numerous international festivals, collaborates with composers from various Turkic-speaking countries.
Earlier we reported that a creative meeting with the author of the "Symphony of Neutrality", Honored Artist Rovshen Nepesov, was held at the Danatar Ovezov State Music College.
