The Turkmenistan Kyokushinkai karate team successfully performed at the international tournament in Samarkand, which was held from May 30 to June 1, 2025. Athletes won a total of 15 medals.
In the men's categories, Turkmen karatekas showed high results. Suleymandurdy Sahedov won in the weight category up to 70 kg, and Meylis Pashakuliyev became the champion in the category up to 90 kg. Myrat Ekayev won a silver medal in the heavy weight category over 90 kg.
The junior team also demonstrated excellent preparation. Among the boys aged 14-15, the gold medal in the category up to 60 kg was won by Yegenmyradov Bagtyyar. Bronze medals were received by Dovletmyradov Ylham (over 60 kg) and Yazdurdyev Yazdurdy (up to 50 kg).
In the women's junior section, the over 55 kg category among girls aged 14-15 was particularly distinguished, where Lachin Peviyeva took first place, and Gulnur Saparmyradova took second. Annamuradova Gurbanbibi won a silver medal in the up to 45 kg category.
Among young men aged 16-17 in the weight category up to 55 kg, Turkmen athletes occupied the entire podium: gold went to Omarov Akmyrat, silver to Dovletov Dayanch, bronze to Nonikov Soyench.
